Billing Policy
This Billing Policy describes how Memo handles subscriptions and account access when self-serve billing is enabled. Payment processing is performed by Stripe.

1. Plans
Memo offers workspace plans with different creation limits and features. Current pricing is published on the Pricing page. Memo may change plan features or prices for future billing periods with notice as required by law and your agreement.
2. Checkout and Processor
When billing is enabled, checkout and subscription management are handled through Stripe. Memo records subscription state from verified Stripe events. Memo does not store full payment card numbers.
3. Trials
When trials are offered, each organization typically receives one trial unless an administrator grants an override. Trial length and whether a payment method is required at signup are disclosed at checkout.
4. Renewal and Cancellation
Paid subscriptions renew automatically each billing period until canceled. You may cancel through Memo billing settings or the Stripe customer portal. Cancellation stops future charges; access generally continues through the paid period already purchased.
5. Failed Payments and Downgrades
If payment fails, Memo may apply a grace period before limiting new creation or premium features. Existing workspace content generally remains readable. Memo does not delete your work solely because billing status changed.
6. Taxes and Invoices
Stripe calculates and collects applicable taxes. Invoices and receipts are available through Stripe when billing is enabled.
